Recent events had led me to think about why people decide to stop being friends, which paved way to something seemingly more relevant--do we ever stop being friends with someone?
I'd like to think we don't--under the premise of course that there is a certain level of friendship that qualifies the relationship of two people as never ending.

I don't think we ever stop being friends. I think of it as a play, Act 1 ~ the characters on stage are there for a reason then go into the wings allowing the next cast of characters to take their place center stage.
I will admit though there are some 'friends' that I have deleted from the play altogether. They were way too draining and not good for me and my sanity level.
I'd sure like to think that "specific" friendships would never cease to strive, and that what we experience are lulls :)
My best friend lives in England, I live in the States, we have been friends since we were 5 years old ~ we are both 44 now. Our friendship is one of those rare ones, never a lull, always seem to pick up where we left off.
