knees and thighs

The evils' birthday bash was...wicked!

It is now Tuesday--three days after but I am still recovering, the thought of that night however, makes me smile. That was a fun night.

I am not sure what it is exactly about those two girls, but somehow when we all hang out, tummies and cheeks hurt from too much laughing, throats hurt from too much talking and well, knees and thighs hurt from...from just too much.

I wonder what will happen next birthday.

who is allan?

I repeat, who is Allan?

What was supposed to be lazy night hangout turned to be one of the feistiest service bashing sessions. Thank you to the surprise guest who came an hour off closing time.

The 4AM prosciutto salad was a surprise too. I refuse to think about the implication though.

Lesson learnt? A boy learned that if another boy sends you a SMS in the middle of the night, you should be well ready to cook corned beef.

No words.

Hahaha.

Welcome to Lego Land :)

I did it. Fringe. Of course I had to endure the jabs last night. All of a sudden, my friends want to crown me with a golden snake. The grumpy one even said that I reminded him of a green alien cartoon character (whose name he can't recall) with a dog. Okay. I'm sure she is just lovely.Since I was disguised last night (and will continue to be until my hair grows out), Tink and Roch decided to do some...errrr some, I'm sure there is a better term, but due to my lazy-nothing-to-eat-since-morning-brain, I'd say role playing. "nges ngoo!" hahahahaha. Here are a couple of pictures with the now, constant escort, as we are missing a regular.
It is like I have a perpetual helmet. Hmmmm, I think someone is about to ask What do you mean?. Just for fun I'll say No helmet. Hair. Not helmet. Not anymore.

juicy

Look what the lovers got.
The juicer might as well be my favorite kitchen plaything. MIGHT--because it is still a toss-coin between the juicer and the food processor. Think salsa.

Last night though, I would have straight away given the juicer the top spot. My reason? Make that reasons...

cucumber + green tea + calamansi + red apple + mandarin vodka
grapefruit + orange + mandarin vodka
green apple + green tea + mandarin vodka
carrot + red apple + orange + mandarin vodka
red apple + pineapple + orange + mandarin vodka

The first one is my favorite from last night. Drink of the night? :)

The buzz effect is still a mystery. Due diligence? I am waiting for a certain Joplets.

Here are some more photos from OBBO.

(with you) i'm hard core

Here is an edited version of the chat exchange I had with SG yesterday.

SG: I'm watching Shopaholic next week with my the girls.
TG: Hahahahaha. I see you have a session too.
SG: Yeah, it is a bonding movie.
TG: It is funny how if the two of us were to watch a movie it would most definitely NOT be the Shopaholic movie or something like it.
SG: Yup. And if we were going in a group I know of someone who would object.
TG: Well, I know of someone who would initiate watching it, and would pass it off as though it was my idea.

When I think about it, it is probably the kind of relationship that I have with SG. Although we are girl friends, we never do girly things that girl friends do (I am not complaining here, I am simply stating a fact).

What is it that we do? Nothing.

What is it that we talk about? Nothing.

Like Seinfeld.

who is wearing a hoodie dress?

I sort of feel funny wearing a dress with a hood as I am not part of the Klu Klux Klan, but I had this image in my head when I was toying with the then cloth (now dress), so here it is after two hours of sewing, my hoodie dress. I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

This is my take on a weekend dress best worn when shopping for fabric to create another dress and later glutting oneself with Arnold's chicken and washing it down with orange soda and potentially, some tequila.

I bought three of the four versions of this cloth. The black one, I made into the office dress, the white one (as shown in the photo), I made into a hoodie dress and a haltered dress and the peach into a long top. Pictures of the other dress and long top are still pending.
Post dinner picture taking :)
Waiting for dinner, post almost-three-hour-fabric-shopping marathon (tired and sweaty but very happy)

i KNOW that this ain't a book!

They say that like people, when it comes to gifts, it is what is inside that matters (I could also quote Melanie Marquez about not judging because not everything--or everyone are books). That is granted of course, but really, it wouldn't hurt if presents came in nice cases sewn by very, very thoughtful friends (like me, for example).

I hope Cindy not only liked what was inside, but also what it came in.

I won't be posting a photo of what was inside though, sorry boys.

synchronized

Cindy was talking about getting herself a new camera for her birthday, but each time she thinks of giving up the camera she is using now, she realizes that she can't quite let go.

After stating the facts, she looks up and we stare at each other. On cue, we sang "But I'm not giving in this time...".

What is happening?

what happens in Bali (stays in Obet's HD)

Strange things happen in Bali. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
  1. alleged mean girls return to innocence
  2. submissive girlfriends demand to be carried
  3. nice guys turn cranky
  4. tom yam is treated like a local delicacy
  5. boys touch paintings
  6. runners play/dance/stuff with bottles
  7. snotty girls assist the needy
  8. honor students forget that tissue absorbs water
  9. essay writing champions attempt to unclog sinks
  10. tim tams are popped into mouths like peanuts
  11. sun quick concentrate is mixed 1:10 with vodka
  12. super heroes hit trees
  13. ginger roosters are deadly weapons
  14. cigarettes ask for luck
  15. softdrink cans grow tall and skinny
  16. strange men puke near showers in use
  17. lovers stay lovers
  18. dancers stay dancers
  19. she remains a lover, not a dancer
  20. friends stop to enjoy the sunset

i'll get down on my knees for you, thank you!

I was singing along Roch's play list when I heard this song and I started singing along. Pretty soon, Cindy was singing too. And in sync, with zero planning, we both added in two words. Then paused. It worked out flawlessly. Since I am still hung over from our trip, I decided to go all the way and put this bit here.

Returning from a fun trip always sucks.

I remember not only being scared for my life (as we were booked by the travel agent with Garuda Airlines) with every turbulence, but also feeling melancholy during the flight back from Bali. There was this familiar end of day vibe again. Something I never quite get used to.

Now that I am lying on my bed, I can't help but smile to myself in remembrance of our latest getaway that might as well be the Bali trip for me.

Just so that we are clear, there is no talk of greatest love here, just the happiest time spent in Bali.

mad scientists

This is where the regulars spent the holiday.
We had a fun-filled educational tour.
We even met a Bubologist!
(REMINDER: Kids, nerds are cool!)
Someday, I want to be a mad (minus the pompom hair) scientist.Cindy and I even got new jobs.
(Next time I hope we get to role play something more exciting than a receptionist)

Can you make out the crazy animals from their shadows?

Floating Head.
Nope. I don't think this what people mean when they say "oh XXXXXX lost her head!"
No words.
Just smiles and tears. (I remember crying over one episode!)
Okay. Some words.

Tingky, Tatat, Dello and...Dino. Hahaha.

editing

I spent the afternoon with the regulars. As usual it was filled with chatter, jokes and jabs. The size of my pants was not missed, it was hinted on by the boy then later expounded on by the bald guy. No surprise there.

It was an afternoon like all afternoons we spent hanging out. Except it wasn't.

When pressing the rubber top of the well-like structure that is the Smoke Ring Maker, the other saturday girl pointed out (and she was, let me tell you, stating the obvious that seemed not too obvious as we all continually pressed on) that there were no smoke rings coming out.

There was smoke, yes.

But no rings.

The boy suddenly says "HE can do that". Or something like "HE does that all the time".

I think this was the first time HE has been mentioned since, well, THAT DAY.

We all look at him.

Later on, while waiting for a cab, I remembered something that HE said a while back. Something funny and related to the topic of conversation. I didn't say anything. Everyone would end up looking at me.

Simfle Flan

I think I have fallen in love with Cindy all over again. She made leche flan! And not only that, she let me eat from the llanera too! Both llaneras! (Llanera = an oval aluminum container used to cook lech flan).

It is sweet to be in lablab. Wahahaha.

withdrawal symptoms

Sure, we had a blast when Nins was here, but upon leaving she left a trail of disasters waiting to happen. I caught a fever and a severe case of hyperacidity, so I was not able to make it to work two days this week. Cindy was food poisoned and is out till now, and it is already Friday! Nins, you better get back here and mitigate the situation, I don't think we could handle any more withdrawal symptoms. We need you back!

Friday the 13th

How did I spend the first day of my new year?

The day started with a reminder from Cindy that it is in fact, Friday the 13th. I won't bore myself writing about the uneventful day. I'd just go right into saying that the night ended with drunken serious conversations with our backs on slabs of wood set as steps.

This Friday won't go down in history unnoticed.
