WYRD: Scream
Here is an OPM song from the nineties. I always liked and it even if I often forget the artist as well as the song title, I would occasionally catch myself singing it. Enjoy. There is high likelihood that it would be the first time you're hearing it as it was never really big.
It is also in youtube, but the audio is terrible.

miss pettigrew lives for a day
I can't seem to find a decent clip from the movie when Amy Adams sings. The embed links of the better ones are unavailable.
Check out this link. It is well worth a watch.
I'm posting an audio clip too.
I also recommend catching the movie. I have grown very fond of Amy Adams, it was also a bonus that the pie maker from Pushing Daisies plays leading man.
If I didn't care....

oh my love
I was reorganising the songs in my iPod, so I decided to listen to a couple of full albums. Let me enumerate:
1. Coldplay Singles 1999 - 2008
2. Duffy Rockferry
3. James Morrison Undiscovered
I am suddenly feeling very melancholy. Somebody save me. Hahahaha.
(Blog entry title to commemorate Patrick Swayze's cinematic moment that was Ghost. RIP.)

phantom song
I called Singtel a while back and while waiting for the customer service officer to pick up my call, a familiar song played in the background.
I waited a good 16 minutes for my turn to be served, so you can just imagine how frustrating it was to not figure out where I heard it before. For a moment I thought it is part of the Juno soundtrack. It isn't.
The worse part is that I am unable to google it!
If you know the song, let me know.

I got the message that you sentI am tempted to call 1626 now, just so I could listen to it.
I think I know that's what you meant
I know that we cannot be friends
We can't be friends
I know that we can't all be friends
I know that this will never end
I know that we can't all be friends
We can't be friends

nothing
I apologize for singing the whole time.
I think it should be fine though, as midway through dinner, you started singing too.

can't get by without you
I heard a familiar song today--at a kiddie party, of all places. It is probably the last place one would expect to have this in the background. I bet I'll be singing it well into next weekend. It's quite catchy. Happy singing :)

singing in the movies

I'm not talking 'bout THE LINEN,
And I don't want to change your life.
But there's a warm wind blowing,
The stars are out, and I'd really love to see you tonight.
On top of my head, if I need to cough out the lyrics, I would say COMMITMENT.
I know someone who insists that it is A MINUTE.
It is by the way, MOVING IN.

she said, she said
She mentions being spectacular at remembering lyrics.
I type I hope, I hope, I hope you clap your hands. Naka-mix.
She types I ho-hope ho-hope you clap your hands. Extended version.
We press enter the same time.
Stars.

I had been busying myself with watching episodes of Chuck. I must say that I particularly like the soundtrack.

singing seriously last sunday
So I went to mass on Sunday. I sat beside an old lady, also attending mass by herself. I noticed that she had taken time to get a copy of the Song AND Mass Guides.
I never bother to get these as I'd rather listen than listen AND READ at the same time. It is redundant and I get frustrated when I find the reader lagging behind my reading in my head, like an echo.
As the mass commenced, my seatmate turned to the page and held the guide closer to me, as if to say that we should share. I smiled and held the other side of the guide, it is hardbound and quite heavy, I didn't want her to strain her arms just so I could be guided.
I still think that the mass guide didn't make a difference for me, as I am able to memorize the response after the reader makes a run before going through the intentions. Okay, maybe a slight difference, as I need to peep at the verse of the week sandwiched by hallelujah singing.
What surprised me was the singing part! I ended up singing all the songs. Even those that I didn't know. I used the notes. I know, I can't sing on key to save my life, but at least I could get the timing right. Whole note, four counts....
I even finished the final hymn!
I think next week, I'll get a song guide. Or I'll sit beside her again.

every hue is represented by me and you
I remember that time when I went to a popular clothing store where the salespeople were Filipinos, the store was playing my favorite OPM song, Kaleidoscope World. I found myself doing something else inside the fitting room--besides fit clothes, I sang.

Rod Stewart is a charmer. I left the concert more fond of him. After a late dinner, mojitos, snacks, mojitos and mojitos, I'm still singing.

diggin' on you
I was chatting with a friend about...something I don't want to broadcast, when we hit on TLC's song no scrubs. She cursed me for bringing the song up as she couldn't help singing out loud.
There was a pause.
I was first to type.
T: I forget what my fave TLC song is. It is from the first album. The one with kool aid.
F: I can't remember
T: I WAS CHILLIN W MY KOOL AID, DON'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE
F: Ah yeah. Diggin' on you!
T: You got it.
