isn't she lucky?

know.

Lucky Charms is Cheerios with (hard) marshmallows.  And while I don't have a soft spot for Cheerios nor marshmallows, I could not truly explain why Lucky Charms is my favourite cereal.

Maybe it is the sudden burst of sweetness in my mouth when I chance by a rainbow or heart that reminds me of simple joys in life bore off the mundane.  Or maybe something less philosophical, I love it because junk food taste goooooood.

all day breakfast

A box of Lucky Charms costs $10.95 where I live.  And while I am all about you should not scrimp on food, I feel that that amount is A LOT for a box of any cereal.

I often wonder how this one could command a premium.  I mean, it costs more than cereals from the organic / glutten free section.

I always thought that ONE DAY, they will go on sale.

Froot Loops, Frosties, Captain Crunch,  all cereals go on sale!

Except Lucky Charms.  Never.  The price is firm.

AND I ALWAYS LOOK.

---

Rummaging through the cereal aisle today, of a grocery I frequent, I saw a box of Lucky Charms and instinctively looked at the price.

I mean, I knew how much it costs, but I still look.  Maybe.

And guess what?

$8.80

Not on sale.  New price.

$8.80

Just my luck :)

maybe you have some advice to give

I really don't see myself as someone sensitive--in fact, I might as well be a log in other people's eyes. Even the eyes closest to me.

I find however that I could be a marshmallow during specific times of the month-- concerning specific things.

Craving.

(Luckily, I don't crave for marshmallows.)

But chips. Three-taste-tofu squares. Butterscotch-with-dried-mangoes. Ginger milk tea. Hazelnut and white chocolate eggs. And CHIPS. Yes. Chips.

In fact that caused the hurt feelings....

JalapeƱo kettle chips.

------

It was not too dramatic to cause anything more than ten minutes of silence and give-take five frowns. But it is enough for me to consider truth in what some girl friends claim, "Women become emotional" during those days.

On second thought, it seems more likely it isn't the hormones but the fact that I'm just a compulsive snacker.

I need help.

great minds eat alike

I met a friend whom I have not seen for a few weeks to catch up. Of course it was the perfect timing for my junk food fix!

Upon heading back to our seat from the counter, I felt quite foolish--like a child with a pocket filled with candy. Even before I sit down, I open my palm to show my friend my new toy :)Imagine my surprise when she reached into her bag and pulled out a plastic toy. A Big Mac. She adds that it was just so cute, she couldn't help but get one.

We talked about how it would have been more ideal if they came up with a (1) sundae--or a twist, even better, (2) drink--with straw instead of the apple pie, fillet-o-fish, coffee.

We agreed that it was great they made french fries, but it did NOT make up for the fact that 2011 is a twister-fries-free Chinese New Year!!!

-----

On a separate conversation with another friend, we were discussing about their choice of product features and agreed that the coffee MUST be there to represent McCafe, and maybe the Fillet-o-Fish was their attempt to say "we have 'healthy' stuff like fish".

The Apple Pie did not seem like something distinct about the franchise... so I'm not sure why they had that.

The drink on the other hand is quite distinct plus is is part of the "meal". Maybe they didn't feel it was right to have two drinks.

I'm also bewildered why they opted for the Double Quarter Pounder rather than the normal one. I mean, they had the Big Mac, that should be enough to say "We cater for big appetites here".

Again, GREAT JOB on the Big Mac and Fries--even if I got the Double Quarter Pounder. It's so cute! I want to get the fries too. Of course, I have no idea what to do with it, but for now, I can just not think and gape :)

i hate you honey

I had my McDonald's fix today and while at it, I got the honey chipotle shaker fries.

I hated it.

Well, it tasted unhealthy, which means it tasted good--but one thing I hate about it is that the powder was too fine!

I ended up taking in a whiff of it, it felt like I was going to be sick.

After I have recovered and finished everything (yes shaker fries and all) and put the empty mcflurry cup away. I looked around to see that most of the people opening the packets end up coughing a bit.

Try it! Instant wheezing guaranteed!
