samson

I'm cutting my hair. This weekend.

And just when I was feeling overly excited, having booked my stylist who was initially lost, I came across a photo of this lovely painting. It is Hendy Edmon Cross' Hair.

And just to add fuel my my sudden flame of doubt. I saw my photo--literally out-of-bed hair looking like this. The person I'm with always tells me he loves my hair. Short. Long. Layered. Curled. Unwashed... I'm not sure. But I do know that he truly believes that as far as my hair goes, it would work out.

With this much support, your doubt tends to go away :)

our daily "braid"

When I was a kid, I learnt how to braid my hair one summer.

The concept is easy to understand, divide the hair into three sections and alternate moving the leftmost and rightmost chunks of hair to the middle, taking the place of the center section. French braiding added a step, which was securing a "row" of hair from the side and incorporating that into the chunk of hair you are about to set as the center section.

No idea if that made sense to anyone but me.

Braiding our household help's hair was easy enough, but braiding my own hair was a completely different story!

As the french braiding starts on top of my head, my arms would hurt so much not even halfway through!

Long story short, by the time it was time to go back to school, I've gotten the knack of french braiding!

Only--I got tired of it too. I don't think I ever went anywhere with my hair braided.

---

And now, guess what? French braids had become quite the trend again!

One would think that I'd jump at the chance to do my hair. Wrong. So wrong.

(For some reason, I can't stop thinking "conehead" whenever I braid my hair!)

---

I did however, started going to yoga class with my hair in a fench braid to keep my hair away from my face--which was genius! You won't believe how well it secures my fringe. No more pushing loose hair away! :)

I wish I had though about it a long time ago--not to be trendy or anything, but only to be able to focus more on my alignment and less on my tresses.

Lost

And found.

I thought for a moment that I lost "the one"...

The only one who cuts my hair the way I want it, even if sometimes I don't realise it till it's done.

Like the annoying girl in Grey's Anatomy. Well. The opposite of her (thank God!)--not knowing she didn't want it till she did. Something like that.

----

I didn't think I lost him to death--even if the receptionist at the salon told me that he was in an indefinite medical leave when I called to make an appointment.

I suspected he had another (yes, another) liposuction done--followed by a Bali trip to show off his new body.

Then, I thought maybe the receptionist was lying. I was sure I wanted to pass by and talk her into spilling.

----

Then, I got a text message from the one telling me he moved salons!

Whew.

----

I was just talking to a friend saying that I don't want to be trying out new stylist to find another "him".

----

There had been only two stylist that I really got attached to. This one and the one from 1998 - 2003ish.

It only proves that finding a gooood stylist is sooooo much more tricky than choosing a good man.

----

This is a love story. I think.

pom poms

I am still undecided about liking this hair.

It is clear however that, well... I didn't really think about getting a perm.

What was I expecting? Not sure.

Hmmmm. What to make out of this?I kind of look the same--so maybe, that person who said that whatever I did to my hair, I'd still look the same was right. Like most times.

Slasher

The genius who cuts my hair in a ways that makes it seems as though I brush more than twice a day and use conditioner regularly, is on indefinite medical leave. It sucks. And not only because I am in need of a haircut, but he has somewhat become part of my life since I've moved here (dating dati pa @rochness) hence, I give a damn that he is unwell.

-----

I was errrr, forced to go to someone else.

I changed my hair quite dramatically too.

Normally, I'd create a new avatar from the South Park app--somehow, they always seem to have the option that matched my current hair perfectly. For real!

The new hair is no exception. This time however, I didn't have to create one. If you see me and the latest episode, you'd know what I mean.

Well, I'm posting anyway.I am still deciding if I like my new hair.

-----

Somebody told me today that like Quin Fabray, no matter what I do to may hair, I still look the same.

Hmmmmmmm.

I'm still deciding what to make of that.

Decided. Nothing.

bad hair day

There were some curious friends who asked me to take photos of my hair curling stint.

Before I go there, I thought I'd post this photo that I mistakenly took. I like how it turned out. I thought it would make a nice fabric print. Think throw pillows. I bought two packs of bendy curlers and watched a couple of youtube tutorials. After these two activities, I thought I was ready.

I didn't have mousse, gel, hairspray or setting lotion. I did have some sea salt spray from a short haircut around a year and a half ago, but didn't know if it would do the trick. Sooooooooooo, this genius decided not to put anything on her damp hair before putting on the curlers.

After putting some muscle into rolling my hair up, my head looked like this.It wasn't too comfortable wearing these things to bed, but I expected worse. I was able to sleep quite easily. It may be because I got exhausted putting them on though.

I really didn't know what to expect, however was not expecting to be blown away by my hair for the day.Not horrible, I would say. However, I don't think this is a look suitable for me. I pinned my fringe back as it seemed weird combed down like it usually is.

I went to work without the fringe clip, sporting a ponytail.

What do you know, at least four people actually stopped to ask me
What happened to your hair?

...not a good sign.

round and round

So, I curled my hair on a dare.

Not permanently. Thank you.

I got myself a few couple of bendy curlers and rolled my way to curl rocks. At least that was what the hair styling product said.

As I used the non-heating curlers, and I do not own a hairdryer, I need to wait it out while sleeping.

I am curious whether tomorrow's hair will be closer to Slash or Bon Jovi--in the early nineties.

snip snip

I think with this photo, people would believe me when I tell them that I don't have eyelashes. That isn't the reason I'm posting.

I took this photo so that I could ask a friend if I am doing the eye color right--that's not the point. Or reason.

I am posting because I like how my fringe looks--like the edge of a nipa hut roof.

why hello Spock

I know. Cut too short. What to do the next two weeks? Hmmmmmmm.

1. Raise eyebrows
2. Draw higher eyebrow arch
3. Wear big sunglasses
4. Tilt head at awkward angles
5. Blow hair off forehead every other breath
6. Distract people with outrageous clothes
7. Keep head low--literally
8. Wear turtleneck with Star Trek logo
9. Carry a big stick
10. Ignore self

I think, 10 is good.

let him do his job

It is once again time for a haircut, while I am trying to grow my hair, I recognise that I can't just leave it until it reaches the length that I like. Sooooo, I went to my regular place. My initial thoughts were not as such, but in the end, I gave into the champion's advise. The photo on the left was taken right after I got out of the salon--and of course that won't be what it would look like after I wash my hair. The photo below is more like how it would look in the real world. The surprising thing was that after my afternoon nap, the front sort of flipped back in, looking more like the first photo. Hmmmmm. Now I'm really excited about how it would look tomorrow.

november hair

It is that time of the quarter again when I get my haircut. I promised someone I'd post a photo, so this is me keeping my promise. As this really doesn't show much of my hair--instead showcases the bathroom tiles, I am posting another photo. This time, it really shows my new hair.If I show you a photo of the hair I wanted, you would realize that it looks worlds apart from my now hair. My stylist said that my hair is still too short so it won't fall the way I want it to. HOWEVER, as it grows, it would fall more and more the way that I want :)

it's black, it's white

I found my first white hair today. Hmmmmmm. I wonder if I'd grow old to find myself with salt and pepper locks. That ought to be cool. If only it would happen twenty years from now ;)

My dad's post retirement hair was rogue-ish--white in front, black in the back. Maybe I'll be lucky too.

i'm changing...soon

I woke up to find out that my hair finally flipped! I had been anticipating this since...well, since the minute I decided what I was going to do with my hair next.

The wait is almost over. In a couple of weeks, it is ferredus time again.

new hair, new head(band)

I like how my hair was cut. Suddenly, putting my fringe away doesn't look like I am in pambahay mode :)

I love the featherband :) It was handmade by Bonsai, my friend based in Manila.

my avatar can read

Every quarter, I look forward to the day I get my haircut. I got one today.

Every now and then, I look forward to creating a new avatar. I created one today.

I admit that although the hair style is still very similar to my new hair, it is not a perfect match. The glasses however, is a completely different thing.

attack of the cookie cutter

Neneng is back from Iloilo! :)

She flew in on Saturday and as a result, we had lechon kawali and mongo for dinner yesterday. Yipeeee!

I must add though that she now sports short hair--with bangs!

classmates :)

Welcome to Lego Land :)

I did it. Fringe. Of course I had to endure the jabs last night. All of a sudden, my friends want to crown me with a golden snake. The grumpy one even said that I reminded him of a green alien cartoon character (whose name he can't recall) with a dog. Okay. I'm sure she is just lovely.Since I was disguised last night (and will continue to be until my hair grows out), Tink and Roch decided to do some...errrr some, I'm sure there is a better term, but due to my lazy-nothing-to-eat-since-morning-brain, I'd say role playing. "nges ngoo!" hahahahaha. Here are a couple of pictures with the now, constant escort, as we are missing a regular.
It is like I have a perpetual helmet. Hmmmm, I think someone is about to ask What do you mean?. Just for fun I'll say No helmet. Hair. Not helmet. Not anymore.

OX naman o!

It isn't even halfway through December but today will be the last time I would be seeing Kristine this year. It has been an interesting but definitely happy year for her and it is not about to end post climax. I think there were times when I had been too much of a cynic but I hope that she knows that I meant well. Next year we will be working in the same building and I look forward to eating with a familiar face every now and then as I had been spending my lunch hour in front of my laptop the last few weeks.

Kristine, next year will be OX. Hahahahahaha.

(Walang point, but the top I'm wearing in the photo is from Kristine.)
