Today, I really wanted to be there for my best friend. I know that in times such as now, she needs more than ever to be with her family but somehow I feel like I failed her by not being there physically.

Maybe this is taking things a little bit further, but sometimes I feel like I have been away, during the times that I more than ever needed to be around--not only to her obviously, but also my family and loved ones.

Am I too caught up living my own life that I tend to disappear from the lives of those dearest to me?

Words are never enough and I wonder if they feel that I am all about words. Even then, do I say I love you enough? Do I ever express missing them?

Further more, when was the last time I made it felt that I am involved?

Do I make the trip just so I'd be there?

It is quite sad--maybe just a little less than tragic that just maybe I am failing people closest to me with my sins of omission.

i like you

My bestfriend tells me that he said I like you too soon. This naturally led to the question, when is the right time to say it (assuming that it has to be said)?

I think it depends on which page you're on, and even then, it is more about the how rather than the when.

If it is a smiling nod that answered your do-you-like-me question, fear not. Do not over analyze. (Although it has been proven to result in a lasting relationship.)

SMS doesn't count--even if your mobile plan is not G-text. Treat it as a mistext.

If it follows an expression of endearment such as "you're so witty, I like you", don't sweat it. If you are endearing because of some trait or just naturally endearing, I would like you too. No biggie.

Now, if he looks intensely into your eyes (during your second date), and upon getting your full attention, slowly--and clearly states the liking, you're screwed.

let me count the ways

My best friend Cheng sent me an email around December last year telling me that she thinks I could replicate a top custom made for her sister by a Filipino designer. The top also came with an obi and some ribbons, apparently it was one of those "101 ways to wear" clothes. She sent a photo of the top too. It looked like a pillow case with holes cut out to serve as armholes. Here is a photo.Below is the copy I made. The fabric that I got is less matte but just as stretchy as the original. You'd also notice that I didn't double the material when I sew. I was afraid it would get too bulky. There are supposed to be a lot of other ways to wear it. As I already mentioned, it could be worn with an obi. It could also be worn with ribbons on the arms so that the sleeves show like fans. I took pictures of the ways I would probably wear it. I like it off the shoulder best.

After almost four years...

Rachelle finally came to Singapore!

We spent time with the girls and the default leading man who took the photo.

Today was a fun day, tomorrow should be another :)
