mister(s) right now

I know I should have stayed home and rested, but I couldn't bear the thought of not seeing two good friends from high school. (We also carpooled in college and continued to spend time together well after that.) I could honestly say that we have come a long way. I admit that I don't get to spend time with them whenever I go back to Manila--which is also not very often to begin with.
They flew in for the night race and since I am not fit to join them for that, I decided to spend the afternoon with them instead.
Lunch was at my favorite chicken rice (and ribs!) place. I over ordered--which (almost) never happens! Apparently their appetites are no longer as I remembered. My bad.

After lunch, we managed to do a little shopping. Okay, not really a little, it was more like...A LOT.

We had dinner at a dingy bar I frequent for the chicken wings. It was a fun day. With my condition, I had to pop antibiotics a couple of times in between of everything that was happening. Oh well.

There is awe in once again confirming that you never really lose your place in someone's life. Sometimes it is as if from a different angle, or point of view, but that space is meant only for you.

Today, I had a blast with Mister(s) Right Now.

south side

So I haven't taken a single quiz in facebook. Not planning to take any. I must admit that I did find one amusing. The Are you from the dirty south or the filthy north? or something like that.

My bestfriend was insisting that her results are wrong as she and I both are true to the south side.

Below is the breakdown of points considered to be from the south. But before that, can I just add that I am surprised there was no mention of having car pass stickers (Alabang Hills, Friendship, BF, etc) even for the villages you don't live in.

MAHILIG KANG UMINOM SA BAHAY BAHAY <-- True, but I also like going out :)

PAG MAY DADATE KANG BABAE DADALHIN MO SA MOVIE OR COFFEE LANG <-- I never took a woman out on a date. I can't confirm. Why is there a LANG in the statement? Is this about being non-committal?

PAG MAGREGALO KA KURIPOT PERO MEANINGFUL! <-- I seriously think that anything from someone important to you IS meaningful.

MADALAS KANG NASA TOWN CENTER <-- You got it!

MAHILIG KANG TUMAMBAY SA BF PARANAQUE... <-- Accurate.

MAHILIG KAYO SA MGA SALITANG "STEADY LANG", "SIR", "CHIEF"... <-- "Steady". I didn't think that everyone used it. (I have a feeling that I know who wrote this quiz!)

GALIT KAYO SA GIMIKERO! <-- Why, not at all. Not at all.

LAGI KANG LATE SA GIMIKAN <-- I am punctual. So, NO. Wait. I think there is some confusion. There is a difference between LAGI KANG LATE and LAGI KANG LATE SA GIMIKAN. Let me just say that I am there on the set time. Whether the set time is late or not, I can't tell. Steady lang.

KAHIT MALAYO PA YAN KAYO RIN ANG HULING UMUUWI SA INUMAN MAPANORTH OR SOUTH <-- Hence, prinsesa mode.

layered :)

My niece cut her hair and excitedly told her mom "Look Mama, I'm so pretty!".

I was laughing so hard when my sister told me because I did the same when I was a kid. I think I got spanked then I went to our room (I shared a room with my sister), locked the door, took the scissors from the sewing kit and chopped off my bangs. I realized later that it was not flattering and regretted the act. I know a few people who did the same, usually for the same reasons.

I do know of a certain boy who did it because he wanted to improve his haircut--he has that thing in common with A.

Anyways, Ar is still cute. In fact, I am guessing that after my sister gets the hair evened out this weekend, she will look more like Dora.

10 minute haircut

I got this from the same email as the image in my previous post.

I'm not sure how fast haircuts are done in this place (or if magic is involved), but I'm sure that if brought to Singapore, it would make the 10-minute-haircut places some stiff competition.

This is....

Somebody sent me this photo and I thought it would be a good idea to post it as it made my day. I'm easy.

Who needs www.hungrygowhere.com?

Hahaha.

(Take me back in your arms) Manila

Having spent the last four days in Manila, I am beat but happy and as always, reluctant to leave. I was able to do everything on my list. However, faced with the question "What else would you have wanted to do in Manila other than those listed?", I would reply quicker than a blink of an eye, "I wish I hugged him more".
